Kudus are excellent jumpers. The height of this fence isn't difficult for these animals, even without a runup. He probably tried jumping at night and couldn't see all the strands. It isn't law, but fences should have reflectors that make the wire more visible. We had them on the fences on our farm. Not once did a kudu misjudge the height.
